Insolvency Service - The 4th Insolvency Research Conference – Call for Papers - Conferencce in November 2009

Following the succesful run of three once yearly research conferences hosted by the Policy Unit of the Insolvency Service, it is pleasing to note that the Policy Unit (and in particular Mr Lee Hewlett) has now sent out a call for papers for a forthcoming conference to be held in November 2009. Term will have started for most academics by this stage. But by hosting it slightly later than the previous early September slot we will at least avoid any clash with the Society of Legal Scholars annual conference. The call for papers contains the following information

"The Insolvency Service is currently considering arrangements for this year’s Insolvency Research Conference which is likely to be held in November...

Given the positive feedback on earlier events, we envisage following a similar format to previous years and will be setting aside a significant number of sessions for interested parties to
present research papers.

At this time we do not propose a specific theme for the day and we would therefore be very interested to hear from anyone who would be interested in presenting a paper reporting original research in the insolvency area.
Please feel free to pass on this correspondence to any colleagues etc. who you feel may be interested in attending and/or presenting papers.

In response to feedback from last year’s conference, to make the sessions as topical as possible
it would be particularly useful if presenters could consider how their research findings may be applied in the current economic climate and whether their work has any particular policy implications.

If you are interested in presenting a paper, please let me have details of the research title, a summary of the research together with a copy of the paper and/or its web address.
Responses by Monday 20 April would be appreciated."
