"Jusice of the Peace" [SIC] and "Debt Management Schemes - delivering effective and balanced solutions for debtors and creditors".

The Ministry of Justice have recently issued a friend of mine with a new ID card following her appointment as a magistrate or as her ID card notes, a "Jusice of the Peace" [SIC]. It does beg the question that if the Ministry of Justice cannot get "justice" right - who can?! In other MoJ related news the Right Honourable Mr Kenneth Clarke MP QC's (pictured) department has published details of responses to the consultation "Debt Management Schemes - delivering effective and balanced solutions for debtors and creditors". The paper sought views in particular on the following options:
 continue with measures underway to raise awareness about current schemes and enforce existing rules with operators;
 improve current schemes by the introduction of best practice codes or other non-statutory regulation;
 commence the powers in Chapter 4 of Part 5 of the Tribunals Courts and Enforcement Act (TCEA) 2007 to introduce statutory debt repayment plans.
